Re: What is this engine part?
The fuel pump safety switch is an emergency device which shuts down the fuel pump if the ignition is on but the engine is not running. Without it the fuel pump could continue pumping gas out of a ruptured gas line in the event of a crash.

Re: New member with a new project.
Where are you located ? I have some bumpers and bumper guards for a '63 (no brackets) that I'd like to get rid of. I can't bring myself to throw them out. Probably too expensive to ship. I live north of Atlanta, GA - they're yours if you're in the area...

Re: New member with '64 Monza. And a little help.
I do have a question. What is this crunchy crispy ring around the exhaust manifold? It does not appear to be a gasket between any two surfaces but it used to be something. I believe that you are looking at what's left of a manifold collar. Here's the Clark's part: http://www.corvair.com/user-cgi/se...
Re: Ads
I saw a youtube video where someone put a corvair engine on a Harley motorcycle. Don't know if it was real or not but it's an interesting idea...

Re: Runs rougher than before?
I need to do a timing check, but I couldn't find my timing light, it's been a long time since I've needed to use it. So it's off next week to get a timing light. Is it possible to do a static timing check with the electronic ignition? The XR-700 has an LED which will flash when the coil fires. You ...

What's This ??
I inherited a bunch of EM Corvair parts. This was in one of the boxes:
. .
I had no idea what this was (I do now) but I thought I'd throw it out to the forum.
Give it your best guess !!!
The real question is: Can it be used on a Corvair ?

Re: OOPS just brought a Clark’s order
I never ship UPS - even on Clark’s orders. They screwed me years ago and I haven’t used them since. I also tell friends and relatives - never send anything with UPS.

Re: To Turbo or Not to Turbo
Thanks for your comments. They are all very well documented elsewhere thank you. My point however is that I do not intend driving the vehicle at anything like peak performance. Surely the mods that were necessary to handle the turbo were for peak performance at maximum revs. Is this assumption corr...

Re: Bulkhead space ?
Ted, Good idea - I just added the Clark’s label to my account so I’ll get one on my next order.terribleted wrote: ↑Sun Jun 17, 2018 4:36 pm Maybe you should get a repro label for it from Clark's so Stitch does not drink it one day LOL.
Brad, I also like your Fanta label in your image above. Nice Photoshop rendering

Bulkhead space ?
Can anyone tell me how much free space (if any) is behind the circled area on my LM Corsa trunk bulkhead ?
I want to mount something there and I don't want to be drilling into something critical
Thanks -

Re: Injection System ?
Nate, what injection components are you using ? It looks like the main suppliers are AEM, Devils Own and Snow's. I like the AEM system because of the controller, but a LOT of people have complained that the system sometimes doesn't shut off and ends up flooding the engine with water and methanol. An...
