if the tube is on the head & not on the valve cover............thats normal for a turbo head.

like the other post said.......cc the heads so you know what you got. does the invoice say what otto cam is in the engine? it would have to be a real big cam to let the valves run into the piston. he prob added all the gaskets cuz he didnt understand what he was doing. i dont think the heads needed ...

if you dont have a shop manual for your car.........get one....youll need it to fix your car & it will help you alot in figureing out what wire does what/etc.

per-lux changed its name to pertronix........these are still being made. the little thing that goes over the shaft is a magnet ring.......dont remove the green tape - that holds the magnets in. the new pertronix has a different magnet ring - all plastic - so the mags dont fall out. dont leave the ke...

what kind of electronic ignition do you have? different ones are wired differently. a switched wire is something that has 12volt when you turn the key *on*. the (+) post of the coil doesnt have 12 volt.........it has a ballast resistance wire in it to lower the voltage.........the cloth covered wire...

Corvair cylinders must be honed with a torque plate and many shops are not set up to do this. Clark's does their cylinder finishing in the proper fixture with pressure applied. a torque plate is different than a fixture that holds the cylinder. looking @ the clarks picture......it doenst look like ...

thats not a oversize bearing. thats stock for 65-9.

the smaller one on the cover is stock for 61-64.

inside hole - you dont have alot of ways to fix that w/hand tools & the head on the car. the threads are @ the bottom of a deep hole & on the corner edge. w/the factory hole......you can drill the damaged threads out - install a sert - but theres no room for a tap. you have to grind the edge...

the best repair choice will depend.............which hole? the inside or outside? what kind of repair sert was there? do you know what hole size is there when the sert is removed?

dont think that orange plastic part was on your plate.............theres nowhere for it to go. everything you need to put the plate back on your engine is already there.

id say the orange plastic part was in the bucket of diesel when you put your plate in there.

mine has been drilled out and a couple hose adapter go to the oil filter and to another larger cooler we did that back in the early 70's but I don't remember this part. since your stuff is modified & not stock we cant say what part you have or where it should go. youll need to trace the oil pat...

not really sure what you are describing.................it might be the oil filter by pass valve?
