Re: Heater/Defrost "J-Tube" Replacement
Mine looked like that, but they were covered in mouse shit and bedding. I cleaned them up, rusty metal primered them and now use a gas heater. Like others said, I would look into using something like dryer duct the whole way if you don’t want to fab new tubes.

Re: New guy from PA first Corvair
Thanks for joining us! Quite a few new people from my neck of the woods the past couple weeks. I'm located in Gouldsboro PA. Black on red is my favorite combo for early model 'vairs (we Corvair nuts call 60-64's Early Models, and 65-69's Late Models). You are going to love owning a Corvair, unbelie...

I feel like if you wanted to you could easily make your own.
Mold a hot wheels LM and then sink a USB stick into the silicone clone.

Re: Trans seal
I replaced mine several times and it still leaks. I'm going to have to assume that the shaft itself is imperfect of something to that effect. Anyway, if it still leaks after you change it don't feel too bad.

Re: Heater
Like I said, so much of the system is missing, and on this car it would not be worth it to mess with. I'll save what is left in a box. However for defroster (defogger) a small marine bilge blower married to the defroster tube with a toggle switch should work fine. Yes that should work. I have my ga...

Re: Starting a engine that has sat for a long time
The oil pump idea is good. I didn't even do that.
I always remove the spark plugs and pour some mystery oil or even just regular engine oil in the holes then turn the engine by hand a full revolution.
