I upgraded my starter yesterday!

I replaced my starter and solenoid with a new Aluminum Heavy Duty starter from Clark's Corvair. It is made by Nipponendso, the it weighs half of the stock starter! The gear reduction employed starts the Corvair quickly and with authority. The sound the starter makes is similar to a Open Wheel Racer!...

I used the Crane cam FireballXR700.
It was available from Clark's.
Instructions were good....gm

I have a '66 Corsa with a Turbo. I have owned it for 15 or so years and it has never ran as good as some of my earlier Turbos. I converted the ignition to an electronic ignition and that helped little. But I still had cold start issues and a lack of low end torque, and an erratic idle. About a year ...

I believe that Chevrolet put out a Tech Tip Bulletin saying that Corvair should not be towed on a tow dolly. I read this after I towed my 1966 Corsa from Cleveland to Westminster, MD. Everytime, I got over 45 MPH the car would yawl left and right violently. I thought I was going to make the 6PM News...
