My tires are 23.88" in diameter just a touch under stock size.
You have larger tires so you should be sitting higher roughley .25" than me @ 20.75"

Re: EM - Axle rubbing on A-Arm opening
Just out of curiosity, what is the height of the rear wheel well from the ground. If the springs are sagging you can compare to my measurement.
Mine on stock springs is 20.5" at the rear with the front coils cut 1 coil.

Re: Building a modded FI 140 for my Wagon
The engine has a nice throaty sound at WOT and rumble at idle (The base is a bit cut down in the video). Cruising it competes with the Nash fan Woosh! No drone.

Re: Building a modded FI 140 for my Wagon
Swapped out the engines and working on fitting up the exhaust to exit in the stock location. I am using a stock turbo muffler but flipped so biased to drivers side instead of passenger like on my spyder. I had to make a new muffler hanger outer bracket to position it in the opening. Waiting on vband...

Re: Engine Stand, easy question to answer
I use a engine stand that I extended the bottom center support and have a permanent old differential on. This way I can break in an engine on the stand with a manual flywheel. Once I have the case together and bellhousing on it goes on stand. I use hoyer lift to lift engine or trans to lift table, b...

Re: Modified Oil Filter Bolt Woes
If you want to keep all attached items a good alternative is to put a flexible braded hose in the stock oil pressure port where the stock sensor is and route out in front of the alternator to a block that all pressure items are arranged. Will not get in the way of belt changes and oil filter changes...

Re: Broken Rocker Stud
<t>Looking at your pictures have you pulled another rocker? The wear that is on the pushrod and pocket of the rocker is not normal. Also the contact point with the valve does not look right. I don't know if this happened as it was beginning to break.<br/> <br/> One more thing the one on the shelf, t...

Re: Ultravan N.W. Florida
If you are going to trailer it back make sure it is a flat trailer with out wheel arches. They are WIDE, when I picked up mine I had to take off the arches put down 2x6 so the tires could ride on those and drive on the lip of the trailer bed (fortunately mine drove), then reattach. Lots of weight on...

Re: 140 engine rebuild
I would second the idea of a paint that will hold up to gasoline. One leak and all that hard work will bubble up.
I you were local Sam you could drop by and we could powercoat them.

Re: Building a modded FI 140 for my Wagon
So the 20min breakin went well, just a weap on the oil filter bolt that I think is fixed now. I used the method that Mike Levine uses by overfilling by 2 quarts so the cam is bathed in oil during breakin. Also, use the cam/lifter lube. Always paranoid to get a flattened lobe. Next is to drop the dri...

Re: Broken Rocker Stud
Was this a original or a new aftermarket? I have heard of the repop ones breaking.
Also, if the rockers are aftermarket did you check that there was plenty of room in the lower slot that it would not contact the stud at the higher lift of your cam.

Re: EM - Axle rubbing on A-Arm opening
I agree the mounts on the crossmember by the differential, there are two. Getting to the nut on top of the mounts are a pain with it in the car. Some bend a wrench to get it to fit. I have always done mine when I am doing the engine/trans. Clarks sells them (cant link at the moment their site is dow...

Re: Rust removal project
A recommendation for paint would be a moisture-cured urethane.
Here in the USA there is POR -15 , MASTERCOAT® ULTIMATE PERMANENT RUST SEALER, KBS Coatings Rust Seal.
I would think there is an equivalent in europe.
