Re: Strange rings
Those look like gapless rings. Do a Google image search for pics of various designs.

Re: Gasoline Opinions...
Question for olcorvairguy: Do modern leaded fuels also have such a short shelf life? I like to fill my tanks on selected cars in storage to prevent corrosion in the tank. I can still get 100+ octane leaded (Sunoco/VP) at most race tracks and will typically haul some home. Thanks for the info. Good d...

Engine Bay Paint Color
I'm restoring a 66 Corsa. The car appears to be fairly original and the engine bay is painted black. In a spot where the spare tire was wearing on the Fisher Body tag, it appears the tag was originally painted body color (Marina Blue) before being painted black. The vin tag has no paint on it and ap...

Re: My seatbelt install
I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I've installed lots of roll cages and harness systems. Shoulder harnesses should ideally be mounted +/- 10 degrees above or below the shoulder, or routed through or over a secure point that is- like a cross brace or a solid seat back that is designed to w...

Re: Tag info
That makes sense, and would explain why my tele-column is not listed on the tag. Did Corviars use build sheets?
If so, where are they typically located, if remaining?
Thanks again,
CM

Thanks!!!... and I didn't mean to hijack the thread.
What do the groups mean? Is that an option grouping?
PS thanks for the description of your injection system in another thread. Very impressive- and helpful.

Re: Tag info
Wow, that's a brilliant analysis of his body tag!
Would you mind taking a look at mine?
I see it was originally painted blue, followed by black. Is this the original factory treatment?
Many thanks!

Re: crank gear differences
Notched,
What's the tank system on the right side of your engine bay in your signature that leads to the turbo outlet? Is that water injection? Did you fabricate the system? Can you explain its components and your experience with it?
Many thanks!

Figured out how to post attachment. Easier than I thought. Again, apologies for this probably being in the wrong section. Hope it's interesting, at least. Re: 66 Corsa Turbo newbie advice
66-Thanks for your help and humble honesty. Bob, that's some GREAT info on the odometer. I'll disconnect my cable poste haste. If we have a good gear I wonder if a 3D printer could make replacements. The following is probably posted in the wrong section. I'm hoping I get a newbie mulligan! I have a ...

Re: 66 Corsa Turbo newbie advice
'66- Thanks for all the tips and advice!
I'll follow up on those leads. I'm still in preparation mode. I'm finishing another car first, but I think I can get started on the engine build and continue gathering parts.
Thank you again.

Re: 66 Corsa Turbo newbie advice
Thanks so much for the advice! My windshield/cowl area looks pretty good, a little rust on the right side under the glass/ top of dash. Seller alerted me that this was an area of concern, but indicated that this was better than most. I will pull the glass and repair what's lurking beneath. It's inte...

66 Corsa Turbo newbie advice
Hello, I just joined this forum and this is my first post. I scored a 66 Corsa Turbo Coupe 'barn find' from a past CORSA president this summer in a Detroit suburb, and hauled it to Long Island NY. The car has been sitting since '73 as evidenced by the Ohio temporary tag. The dust is thick and the es...
