Re: Royal purple gear oil?
GET IT OUT!!!!!! Is what my transmission is telling me. I don't think its the chemical makeup but the viscosity. Once its HOT my downshift into 2nd is rough. Then again, this is really the most its been driven in 30 years, so.... Maybe there's an underlying problem and I'm just blaming the oil. At 2...

Turbo 80hp (has anyone tried)?
I did a bunch of googling and found nothing, there's got to be a crazy sonofagun somewhere that bolted a 150 setup onto an 80. My question is, what happens when you bolt a 150 (or similar) setup on an 80? It seems that at 8:1 compression you could probably run low boost without issue. Hell, I know p...

Re: Seat foam
I just did both of mine. I used a variety of things. First was canvas tarp material to take the place of the burlap. Then I used jute padding material. its about a 1/2" thick gray fibrous padding. Like whats under your rug from the factory on newer vehicles. To get the fluff, I used the actual...

Re: Gas Heater conversion.
The whole reason I thought this might be cool was to utilize those little Coleman propane bottles. Also, you wouldn't have to dip into your fuel economy or run a return system to your tank.

Gas Heater conversion.
I'm doing a gasoline heater conversion. I have most of the parts already, I still need a few hoses for the defroster. I'm in no rush really. My question is, has anyone converted their heater to run on gas (propane or something similar)? I might play around with this idea a bit. Hopefully I don't blo...

Re: SBC 350 Engine Swap
It's cool, but I think even a little m90 blower is a lot on a corvair. I can't imagine it stays cool. I've been driving all week in NJ traffic. It's 95 degrees and my vair loves it. (Even with the fucked up cylinder head fins.)

I've been avoiding my water leak.... What would you do?
Today is the first day that I really left the car out in a rain storm and I can see my leaks clearly now. I should have known anyway because the inner windshield weatherstrip has water stains. I knew my rain gutter under the hood was leaking but I repaired that and sealed my frunk. SO for the most p...

Well it's in there, it's got to be better than what was probably the original fluid. Will let everyone know how it feels.

Royal purple gear oil?
I know it's been asked before about engine oil, but what about gear oil. I have the maxgear 75-90 synthetic. Says it won't harm yellow metals including synchronizers. It says for use in transmission and differentials calling for gl-4 or gl-5. I checked autozone and of the numerous brands including v...
