Transmission Cable

I know i have been busy on here but I will give back soon......I haven't dealt with the Corvair in about a year. In any event I know there are a number of ways to fix these leaky cables. I tried a search but it didn't yield much...As I recall there is an O-ring that goes into the transmission that n...

Re: Please shed some light on 64 rear Coil Springs

Right, that is what I thought. But I don't care what anyone says the springs are different. I spoke to Clark's today and the springs are right. I am going to go with them. Also it appears the original springs had been replaced. I know this because 64's don't have the little bumper on top of the spri...

Re: Please shed some light on 64 rear Coil Springs

Yeah, that was the part of the story I didn't mention. I called them and it was closing time for them so we didn't get a chance to work it out. but my feeling is that they have seen this all before, they have had to considering how old and obscure the car is (I know I know they made millions of them...

Vintage Centerline or crager solid aluminum rims with rivets

Do you remember these. they were pretty cool when they were polished up but I don't know if they come in a four bolt pattern. I have heard of a conversion but is it a big job? Maybe someone remanufactures them or makes similar. I have seen some solid ones but not with the rivets......Thanks for look...

Duralast Control Arm Bushings

Anyone use them on their Corvair? I bought two different types; part numbers 202143-FB153 and 20213-5FB149. I am always sceptical about parts i am able to get locally for the Corvair after the Transmission Modulator Incident, but that's another story. (if you know what I mean) Also I am nervous of b...

Please shed some light on 64 rear Coil Springs

as I can be wordy I will put it straight up front. I bought some springs from Clarks Corvair for my 1964 Monza Coup. They are longer than the ones that came out. I spoke to an old Corvair aficionado that had the same issue in 1995 if you can believe it. He says its wrong......what's the deal? Anyone...
