Re: Smokin' Deals!
Here's a running 1968 LM parts mobile. Not a bad price I think for so many good parts, plus it's got those nice sporty small bucket seats! I'm tempted! Nice! That cove behind the rear seat on EMs was a gift from GM for speakers! I always wondered why it's actually there though. Win!

Yes, he's cool and knowledgeable and a big-time Mopar guy, which I USED TO BE. I'm actually friends with him on FB.

Re: Car Batteries: Walmart & Costco FTW!
I've found that all the battery brands seem to last pretty darn well in my cars out here in CA, so the main criteria I stick with is leakage. I hate leakage and excessive acid corrosion around the battery posts. It's unbelievable that in this day and age, many battery brands still have these leakage...

Re: New but old member
Welcome, Bruce! Wow, what an amazing awesome story! I wonder how much extra power the LP contributed to....? Feel free to share any/all your pics from back then! What do you have "on the burner" right now, corvair-wise? Great to have you aboard.....

Re: Corvair Fires
This is one reason why I tend to like the center 4-barrel setup. Those stock 4 individual carbs on a 140 horse means there's more chance of fuel leakage. The center 4-barrel stays relatively cooler too....no fuel percolation after shutdown. I know everybody likes to slam the center 4-barrel for legi...

Re: German Late Model Corvair Restoration from Klaus Rühle
That's really nice. I keep wondering what that one is, next to the blue fuel pump. Looks like an ECM for fuel injection or the like. Also, what is that item behind the L/S taillight in the engine compartment?

Wow! Looks great. I definitely wouldn't worry about that compression difference either. Not one bit.

Re: Should I buy this car?
I agree with Ted here, pretty much. And if A/C is a must-have item, you're going to have an extremely narrow group of cars to choose from. Get ready to drop $20K or so for what you're looking for. That one for $13K doesn't excite me too much, but lousy paint jobs tend to turn me off immediately........

Re: Just Joined
Great background and I love all the musclecars from that era, and definitely the Fords too! Good luck in your hunt for a '66 corsa.....I rarely see them for sale too often anymore.
