That air filter is from early 64's, mine has the same one. The center one is an oil bath unit, my 64 was an October 63 build. The PCV hose connects to the right carb.. I'm not using my oil bath filter now. Pretty sure yours was a November 63 build.

One post you say zero on number one then later you're saying number two????????? Watch this video & reset your valves then check the compression again. The cemetery is in Kalamazoo, Mi.. It's 4 miles from my home & I photographed a few thousand headstones there. :tu: I have a grandson who works in Ottawa & an ex wife who livves there too, looks to be around 80 miles East of you, just Souht of I-80.

This guy doesn't have any Corvair's but what a collection of automobiles & related items he has. It will make some of you drool!!!!! I don't know what he did for a living but he must have millions in his collection.

You could also send the speedo to a repair shop with the diameter of the tires & have it calibrated. :my02:

Ya the ones Advance Auto sells has fins half the size you have there, cheap ones that don't disperse much heat.

Now is the time for new axle bearings unless you already have them. :tu: They ain't cheap but new ones are sure quiet. Took a 40 ton press to get mine off plus $50.00 but now I can drive it anywhere. :cool:

How deep do you think the water got? Was it up to the lower pulley or the starter????? I would clean the fuel system & rebuild the carbs & see if it will start. How about posting some photo's of the underside & overall, we would like to see what you scored.
