Re: ...more leaking oil

When I last ran my 64 monza Sunday afternoon, it was running and driving great. (Despite the oil leak) when I went in reverse to park it, it died. Tried to restart the car and it shot some sparks going down to my feet from around the ignition and now will not start. Brad, did you notice he said he ...

Re: ...more leaking oil

If you got sparks coming from under the dash you have an ignition wire shorting out, probably burned one off. You had better look at the ignition switch wires again. Look for melted coating on a wire or one that's touching another wire or ground.

Re: Keys question

EM's use one key for all locks unless someone changed a lock at some time. Cannot remember what my 65 had, that was 51 years ago. :dontknow:

Re: heating system?

The LM heaters are a bit different that the EM's but it should put out all the heat you need. I'm in Michigan & drive year round & last year I blocked off one hose from the engine & once the interior heats up I have to run the fan on low. No problem with the defroster either!

Re: brake pedal no resistance

If you don't have the drums on all you are going to do is blow out the wheel cylinder pistons & cups. You need vacuum to draw out the wheel cylinder & line air not pressure.

Re: Disk brakes

I'll probably get a lot of flak but I don't think disc brakes on the front of a light front end car is a good thing. The fronts are going to grab especially on wet or damp roads & that could lead to a bad situation. My old motorhome has disc on the front & don't like the way that handles in a quick ...

Re: Push rods

I cannot get any of those when I select Properties. When I right click a page I get those options I showed you in my last reply. If I click on Properties I get this. No box on the left. I don't know enough about computers to start trying to make changes, i'll screw it all up then be up a creek witho...

Re: Torque converter seal and electrical question

Better to do it now than to remove the engine again. Mine leaked & I had a Corvair tranny guy check the trans & converter & ended up with a new converter. It doesn't leak now. The guy said the hub on the old converter was worn to much & this guy has been doing Corvairs since the 60's. Get your seals...

You would be wise to order a push removal tool from Clark's, number C-1439, makes it easier to remove them without damage. You can click on the image to enlarge it.
