Good morning Howell .Joe moore from California here well you definitely have a 61 ramp by it plate number tru k was made in st Louis to bad NO motor because the block has a lot of information on it ..so the other way to tell their should be another vin number on the driver side A arm assembly. So so...

The "modular" air cooled engine is discussed in a few books. Basically Ed Cole wanted to reduce the cost of the Corvair engine (costs more than the Falcon or Valiant engines) by allowing a modular concept to build small, med, large engines from the same basic parts for different car model...

Getting to know corvairs

Well I realize the F.C.section might not be the best place to show my first car but I could not help myself. I really wish I could put the car next to DOROTHY. Thy would make a nice set.

Ok the pockets on the rampside are the same dimensions as any Ford ranger box hole except the ramp seemed to be tapered. So the plastic cap just snaps in . Nice and clean.

I believe that the pockets are tapered.you can get a pocket plastic plug like I have on DOROTHY kind of hard to see but look close.

In my humble opinion, I would check the hinge alignment on the bottom of the ramp. Or take a look at the hinge Aliment on the box,I checked DOROTHY'S RAMP and yes their is a tightness at the bottom of the ramp not enough to remove the paint but these trucks are 60 years old could be metal stress, no...
