Re: 2016 Wall Calendars

Thanks for all the hard work Scott. It is greatly appreciated by one and all, and especially me. Now I wish I had given you some better photos to work with!

Re: Need some info from Florida/Southern US members....

There is a show held the last Sunday of January every year in Lakewood Ranch, Florida called the Kaiser-Devereaux show. Its a great show with no judging and no pretense, just a massive amount of cars and car guys getting together for a fun day. If you are anywhere near at that point in time, its one...

Re: Corvair of the year voting

Thanks to those who voted for my humble Monza. That is a beautiful Rampside that took the win. As usual, it is an honor to be involved in a competition with such high quality automobiles! Looking forward to the calendar.

Re: Im in need of some help

On the leaky speedo cable: the housing holding the speedo gear in the trans uses an o-ring to seal it. Just remove the one bolt holding it to the trans case, and pull it out of the trans. The o-ring will be readily visible.

To quote dear departed Elvis "Thank ya, thank ya very much" to all that voted for my Monza. As usual it was an honor to be in such competition.

Re: Warning- Ca. Corvairs

Phil, Phil, Phil…. Now you leave me no choice. When I find the elusive horn slot car lurking here in Florida ( and I will find it, its just a matter of time) I'm afraid you have left me no choice but to make my first phone call north of the border to a certain tractor driving Corvair crusher. When y...

Re: Warning- Ca. Corvairs

I, too, had a problem with California Corvairs. They will never see another dime of my money. I don't appreciate being sold junk, and then being lied too and called names by the owner. Worst experience I have had in the Corvair world.

Re: ENTER- Corvair of the Month July 2015

For your consideration is my 1964 Monza convertible, 110 hp Powerglide, that has been an ongoing project for the last year. I found the car lurking in a Tampa FL suburb, wet and neglected with a paint job applied that would have caused Earl Schieb to look away in horror, a tired and dirty black inte...

Re: Vote - Corvair of the Month May 2015

Thanks to all those who voted for my car. It was an honor to finish second to such an outstanding automobile. If there is a speck of dirt on it anywhere, it certainly doesn't show!

Re: Vote - Corvair of the Month May 2015

Have had a couple of requests for some "before" shots of my car, so here is the carnage in all its glory. Its really too bad the wide rocker molding covers up most of this repair work, but you get the idea.

Re: Interior Trim Help

Be aware that if your car is a 60 or 61, the stuff you buy won't be exactly the same as what your car came with. I exhausted every resource I could find trying to get the original stuff for my 61 Lakewood, to no avail. The new stuff will work, it just doesn't look the same as the original.

Re: ENTER- Corvair of the Month May 2015

Here's a few shots of my 1964 Monza ragtop for your consideration. Bought it about a year ago as a neglected but running project, painted a faded maroon with a tired black interior, and an abundance of rust. When I took the large 64 only rocker trim pieces off, there were several gaping holes starin...

Re: Question about Steering Wheel re-work...

I have removed a few sets of these by getting behind them with a small flat bladed screwdriver and some mild "persuasion." Haven't broken any yet, but maybe I've been lucky. Just take it slow and easy and they generally come off OK.
