Thanks guys for the advice and pics. I think I will try the Clark's bolt and plumb it out of the way with an electric sender. Looks like the best set-up..just a little inconvenient to change the filter. I can live with that.

Oil Pressure Gauge

I want to install an oil pressure gauge in my '64...I looked in the Clark's catalog and they are very costy (like $200 for the gauge and sender)...any suggestions ? overheat problem solved...after blowing out oil cooler..I reinstalled the cover plate upside down restricting airflow..stuped mistake.

Hey Brad...All works as it is supposed to. Went for a drive today..temp normal. The last few days the temp has been in high 80s..today much cooler, about 72...can this much difference in ambient temp cause the motor to run a WHOLE LOT hotter ?
