Thanks guys for the advice and pics. I think I will try the Clark's bolt and plumb it out of the way with an electric sender. Looks like the best set-up..just a little inconvenient to change the filter. I can live with that.

Oil Pressure Gauge
I want to install an oil pressure gauge in my '64...I looked in the Clark's catalog and they are very costy (like $200 for the gauge and sender)...any suggestions ? I don't want to drill and tap...Clark's catalog shows a fitting that replaces the bolt that holds the oil filter on ?...does this give ...

overheat problem solved...after blowing out oil cooler..I reinstalled the cover plate upside down restricting airflow..stuped mistake.

Hey Brad...All works as it is supposed to. Went for a drive today..temp normal. The last few days the temp has been in high 80s..today much cooler, about 72...can this much difference in ambient temp cause the motor to run a WHOLE LOT hotter ?
