Re: give me some feedback

I think they look good, but I have 16" wheels on my EM too.

Re: Knocking

I think your on the right track, I had a succession of valve seat problems and the noise never went away until a total loss of compression on the affected cylinder. After your rocker adjustment and the noise is back is the lock nut backed off I had one that would go loose after a few heat cycles and...

Re: My friend's 60 coupe

I'd say drop the drivetrain and clean it up right. Pull the top side tin off the engine to make sure the rat nest is off the cylinder heads underneath it too. Then you can pull the spark plugs and use a shop vac to suck the intake runners backwards to pull the junk out maybe run a bottle brush in th...

Re: Dropped exhaust valve seat again.....

Pulled a late night off and got it back together. Test drove to work and it ran great. The only thing that had me concerned was the amount of time #2 cylinder took to pump up the lifters, lots of clatter. Probably has to do with the fact that I disabled it and moved the car before I pulled the head ...

Re: Dropped exhaust valve seat again.....

Well I'm back in business. Picked up the cylinder head from the machine shop this morning. in my excitement I neglected to get a picture of the welded up valve seat pockets showing the flowed aluminum repairing the gouged valve seat area. Take my word for it, it was done right and looked really good...

Re: Dropped exhaust valve seat again.....

Just as an update I had all the valve seats removed yesterday and the head is now at the tig welders shop to have the damage repaired. Once I get it back hopefully this week or Monday I'll return it to the machine shop to have the deeper seats cut and installed at all the valve locations.

Re: Dropped exhaust valve seat again.....

Thanks for all the replies guy's, I did get my proof over the weekend. These heads were gone through about 2 years ago with this cylinder having been repaired at that time from a dropped exhaust seat from before. I had given instruction to do "whatever it takes" to make these heads into to...

Dropped exhaust valve seat again.....

This is still part of the fun right? well after the recent turbo upgrade, clutch and flywheel upgrade, front disk brake conversion, new wheels and tires the Spyder showed me she has some fangs. Yesterday I noticed a tiny unfamiliar pop out the exhaust while idling but the car drove great so I didn't...

Re: Thinking of putting 15" and 16" wheels on my EM

Ok they are now on the car and it looks and drives pretty good I'd say. Final tire size was as stated in the above post, 205-50-16 FT, and 215-50-16 RR The fitment I would have to say is almost perfect and if I had to make a change it would be to go with a 45 series tire in front and not 50. While d...

Re: Thinking of putting 15" and 16" wheels on my EM

Getting closer, just have to make a decision on final tire size. Now that their here I got to say their HUGE 16x7 front and 16x8 rear. I hope I didn't go too big and get this wrong. I will roll my fenders/phone book pull them tonight on the stock rims and tires I have now. I'm hoping to create some ...

Re: Weber 40mm DCOE Conversion

Alexrobic604, I gave you bad info up above by mistake. 145 main jet is way too small I'm sorry I don't know what I was thinking. Yes I have a 145's in my car but it totally slipped my mind that I drilled them out. I found this out(remembered) because I upped my boost and was tuning for it and starte...

Re: Thinking of putting 15" and 16" wheels on my EM

0 offset, any fender rolling or steering arm contact? Well that shows the extent of my understanding for wheel fitment. Thanks for getting that info it may have just saved me from making a big mistake. The sale on those XXR wheels runs till the 12th. it adds up to nearly $200 saved over the Enkei's ...

Re: Weber 40mm DCOE Conversion

Ok I got my spec's. Keep this in mind these carbs normally feed one cylinder per throttle bore. So a 4cyl MG for example would have two DCOE's. We have one carb supplying fuel/air to 6 cylinders. Acell pump jet 1.00 Idle Jet 50F8 Emulsion Jet F16 Air Corrector 220 Main Jet 145.............Edit 145 i...

Re: Thinking of putting 15" and 16" wheels on my EM

That would be great. In this thread he told what size rims they are and make, but no offset info.viewtopic.php?t=9117

I won't buy anything until he lets you(us) know more details.
