Re: Exhaust in England

I could send some pics of my stock steel one if you wanted. Very simple and any good shop should be able to make it. Just the single muffler exiting on the offside works for me, sounds great without being annoying. Has lasted for the last 5 years and doesn't look like it will fall apart any time soo...

Re: UK agreed value Insurance

Of course it's only worth as much as someone is willing to pay but I saw 2 Greenbriers sell on Ebay in the UK for between 11-14k last year and appeared to be of comparable condition. Really? Have you a link to any of the old adverts, I'd love to see them if they sold for that kind of money. Althoug...

Re: Hello from England

If there is a show a bit nearer central UK then it would be good to get all the UK Greenbriers in one place for a day this year. I'm sure some classic auto magazine somewhere would make something of it.

Re: Hello from England

Nice to see. Mine is a 62 and I love it. Not sure how you find it, but I love driving it around, the ride is so smooth compared to modern cars, if not really 'performance', like my BMW. If you have any technical questions that you might want to run by me, I've restored a 64 vert and the Greenbrier a...

Re: The Gas Heater Saga

When you say failed, how so? When the heater is warm the bi-metallic strip makes the power flow to the fan until it cools, the strip springs back and the contact is broken.
Does it fail to break the contact? I'd say that the failsafe is to be constantly on, rather than off.

Re: The Gas Heater Saga

Yay, you had a great time sorting that one out! :) I too had the fun of installing gas heaters in both my 64 Monza (now departed :( ) and my 62 Greenbrier. Maybe there is some curse in the same vein as the Tutankhamun crypt, as I too had the same kind of fun, but luckily not quite as bad as you have...

Re: EM floors. There isn't much left.

At least it isn't arc-eye. I used to hate the itching. And I was once burning some lugs off with a torch while leaning over the side of a ship, and I hadn't thought or noticed where all of the spray was going. Next thing I know I've got a guy beating me up from behind. Took a few seconds to realise ...

Re: windshield install tips..dooz n dontz for a 64

I'd get a new one from Clarks, but that's just my opinion. I wouldn't chance an old one myself.
