i would do it to strengthen the rear end because ive blown them up, i have a few friends runing welded differentials in their daily drivers, but their front engined rear wheel drive cars, i was wondering how a corvair would drive with a completely locked rear end

i have done about 400 miles of driving this weekend in the convertible, and it hasnt missed a beat, drove to saginaw, then bay city then back to saginaw, then home, then i drove to grand rapids and back, its been pretty fun!

i just took the vair on its first real trip far from home, i went to kalamazoo, about 110 mile round trip and the car drove flawlessly

just go to the hardware store and get some rubber hose the same size as what crumbled and just cut it to the leingth you need, theres nothing special about them, i wouldnt plug them tho, the hose you need shouldnt be more than a few dollars

yeah 5 on 4 3/4 5 or 5 on 4.75 same thing, this is a early and has the 4 on 114.3 or 4 on 4.5 right now

GM disc brake conversion
I have heard you can use spindles from a GM G body from the mid eighties on a corvair front suspension for a disc brake conversion, i know you have to do some modification to the spindle to get it to work, i was wondering if anybody has done this and could let me know all the ins and outs
