Found a 62 corvair convert that a guy is parting out in PA. He wants 75 for the transmission. Will I need the transaxle as well? We just bought the car, and my wife loves it, but it would be perfect if it had an automatic.

Is it possible to convert a 1960 700 from a 3 speed to a automatic (power glide?) also is the auto tranny specific to the corvair. Any help is greatly appreciated.

We seem to be dragging a cable about 6 feet under our car (1960 Corvair 700) I assume this is the arking brake cable. Anyone have info on different styles/lengths?

It does have a gasoline fired heater. As it is a summer car only, we would like info on shutting it off, not removing it, but just a way to shut it down, a little leary of the kids riding in it.
