Re: Vented & Unvented Gas Tank Filler Caps

Reminds me of when I was a teenager. My father took the Dodge company van to LA Airport to pick up some special items that were shipped there. He was amazed at how the Van did not use hardly any gas, according to the gauge anyway. It had a large tank and would make the 200 mile round trip without an...

Re: Newbie with a rampside

Looks like a nice project. Will have to get it out of the weeds and make an evaluation. Good used body panels are available from time to time. Most everything else is pretty much available and lots of truck parts from Clarks and others. Keep us posted on what you find and also the year, transmission...

Re: Hydrolic lifter springs

Over the decades, I have disassembled and worked over plenty of lifters. Some may be locked up if the engine was overheated and STP oil treatment was added at some time. To compress a lifter, I use a bench vice. On the flat "toe" side of the lifter I put a wood block to protect the wear su...

Yep. We're still here. I haven't posted in quite a long while do to life challenges. Nothing serious, but recently I had both knee's replaced. First one last November. The other one this past February. Lot's of long painful sleepless nights and aggressive Physical Therapy. Getting back to normal, bu...

Re: Clark's Corvair Catalog as PDF

I just get their newest paper catalog when I make a parts order and they have their latest catalog. Easy Peasy. I can find items much faster with the paper catalog. I also always make my orders by phone. This way they can tell me if something is out of stock or back ordered. No headaches. Corventure...

Re: 140 miss at constant speed only

Many years ago I had a problem like that with my 140. Holding a constant speed or going down a slightly down hill grade.
For me, I solved it by re-synking the secondaries and also reducing the secondary carb jet size.
Craig has good advice also.

Rampside Ramp Alignment-Bumper bushings.

I just received my pair of rebuilt Rampside Ramp Alignment bumper-bushings from Steve Spilatro. As with all the FC parts he is making, these are as close to NOS as I believe can be found. One sends him the old bumpers. He removes the old rubber. Cleans and bead blasts the metal frame. Then he someho...

Re: Rockauto F/C Brake Parts

I know coating has been noted as retaining heat. For our FC Bricks, that may not be an issue.
The last set of drums I bought were from NAPA. They came from Canada. But that was 20+ years ago.
