Basically the only difference is the way the oil is added and the way the oil is checked. Although this includes a unique block, there are work arounds and many many car to FC and FC to car swaps have been done over the years.

Looks like you have a powerglide transmission. Has it been using transmission fluid lately? Powerglide setups can sometimes leak from a seal, filling the differential with ATF.

Drivers side of the differential. Just to the rear of the left side axle shaft is a 3/4" pipe plug. That is the check/fill point.
