Drivers side of the differential. Just to the rear of the left side axle shaft is a 3/4" pipe plug. That is the check/fill point.

Really? Look in the Factory Service Manual for setting/shimming the governor drive gear for a proper mesh.

Second to the last picture is of the rear engine mount on an early so you can set rear tire toe-in.
Did you measure the shim for the governor drive gear?

After getting the correct diff., I would replace seals Clark's C3363 and C1698. These can cause the diff. to fill with ATF and destroy it in short order.

Yes. There should be one on each side about 3" in from the "A" piller. Slightly oblong, maybe 1/2" wide.

The heater and A/C blower motor resistor in the rear of the right front fender is different also, from a non A/C car. I could not find one so I made my own.

If feeble memory serves, they should be on rear of passenger side and front of drivers side. Is that where you looked?

Totally agree with the v block test, plus measure to insure the lobes have .0005- .0015 taper across their face so the lifters rotate.
