Re: Remember these ?

There was two of those in my glovebox when I bought the car 10 years ago. They are still there. Neat stuff!

Re: Removing transmission mounts on a 64

I have done this job twice by finding an old cheapie wrench in my box, heating it and bending it to a 90 degree shape. Then you can slip it up into the space and hold the bolt head while yo remove the bottom nut of the mount. No floor cutting involved.

The service manual tells you the location and position of the slinger.

Re: Hi from Westminster MD

That appears to be the oil slinger that goes on the crankshaft under the rear housing. If I am correct you better get that put back on before driving to much. It's important!

Re: OT- Presidentual Hopeful gets caught telling BOGGIE MAN

It is hilarious that you guys take sides...reps vs dems. They are all out for themselves and could give a good god damn about any of us. The system is broken and they do their very best to keep it that way so folks will get wrapped up in the arguments while they line their pockets and set up their p...

Re: Anyone make their own Stinger Decklid?

Sorry, I should have posted the link. Here it is: http://polarmfg.thomasnet.com/category/cowl-vents If you click on one of the pics, it will also give you the size specs and even a downloadable PDF drawing of them. From what I see they are: Outside Flange - 11-5/8" long x 6-15/16" wide. Li...

Re: Anyone make their own Stinger Decklid?

Came across this on the Internet. Not the same size as the Stinger air doors, but would probably work as a repro on a steel hood.

$32.50 each plus shipping....

Re: Anyone make their own Stinger Decklid?

Avoiding the large gap is exactly what I am trying to do. The steel deck lid fit better and avoids the gap. I have a fiberglass spoiler I will attach to the steel hood, but I want the flaps as well. Has anyone made their own in steel. I think the hardest part would be treating the edge of the openin...

Re: Knock When Idling.

I had one do that. Turned out to be a broken piston skirt. I found it by pulling the plug wire on each cylinder while the engine was running, then see if the noise goes away. When it does, you've found the offending cylinder. Hopefully, it is something easier to fix...
