Re: Carter YH Issues
Clark's is selling a cap that fits the Corvair and meets government regulations. They are between a rock and a hard spot in regards to these caps and the Corvairs owners. The more we keep bringing up not to buy the caps or to modify them once you do, the less issues. But I don't see the word constan...

Re: 1966 monza takes many tries to start up
Turn the ignition switch on and select switch on. See if you hear the pump. If you do hear it, use the switch for a few seconds prior to every start if engine is cold. Hopefully you got an electrical schematic of how the electric pump was wired into your car by the previous owner. That way you will ...

Re: Horn Repair?
If you don't want to attempt rebuilding them, send them to "The Horn Works" for repair. Great reviews over at Team Camaro on his work. https://www.carhornrestoration.com/ The Horn Works.jpg Or you can mount the individual horns in the light buckets off a 2015 -2019 Silverado truck and have...

Engine cold or hot issue.
You have an lectric fuel pump - do you have a prime switch to fill the carb bowls when car has sat a few days. Ethanol fuel evaporates when sitting unused for a couple days after a run.
Dies it start right up after run or the next day?

Re: Engine Stand, easy question to answer
If this is the one you mean, ypou can get one made yourself with 1/4" steel welded to a pipe that fits your engine stand. Just have to remember that your engine has to assembled to mount it to this adapter plate. If you run the engine, use a flex plate, sacrificial torque convertor and starter....

Dp you mean his engine cradles? His engine stand is the original GM vair engine stand. It is shown in his post here on previos page.
This is his cradle mounted on a HF 800 lb transmission jack. Shown on page 1 of this discussion.

You .might have an unvented cap on the gas tank. Take it off and see what happens. Get a vented cap if it solves the problem.

Re: Baptism by fire... Electric fuel pump install.
Call them and ask to hold shipment. Then ask what pump part number they are shipping and where it was manufactured. I still have a pump kit I bought from Clarks in 1995. It got moved to my spares box for my More Door. I will trust that pump more than the same part numbered one in rhe car now. The Co...

Re: Cleaning ductwork
I did a major rework of my 66 More Door which included touching items related to the heater system. Lower shrouds and front panels with duct adapters were bead blasted and painted. The 90 degree steel elbow on the end of the long heat duct was bead blasted and painted. New hoses were installed. The ...

Re: Baptism by fire... Electric fuel pump install.
There are pros about the low oil pressure switch addition and also the use of a tach signal (no cons to either being used) to control the fuel pump On signal. I see the tach signal as a nice to have signal, but not much benefit. What causes a loss of a tach signal: bad key switch, loose wire, bad di...

Re: Cylinder Fixture
Take an unusable engine case half and make it your fixture. I took 4 case bolts / nuts and 4 coupling nuts to make the legs. Also a bunch of 1/2" washers to level the legs. With the coupling nuts I drilled out the threads, so the case bolts would slide through them. Some trimmiing of the case a...

Re: Baptism by fire... Electric fuel pump install.
Since late 2022 Clark's has been saying they will have a new mechanical fuel pump. This is in their catalog now regarding their advice on using their current pumps. Both pumps are out of stock. So no help in keeping with a mechanical pump. Last word from Clark's was pump would be available in Fall/W...

Re: Baptism by fire... Electric fuel pump install.
Herer is my wiring for an external electric fuel pump. I used it on a Greenbrier and my 66 More Door. My 66 Coupe is getting Ted Brown's in-tank fuel pump for carbs. Key points: Don't cheap out on the pump. Get a good one. Have a good electrical system that covers all possible issues. Don't worry ab...
