Re: Oil Pressure Issue at startup
I'll add that at one time many said you should "stretch" the oil pressure regulator spring on an old engine since they loose tension. THAT IS NOT CORRECT! I 100% agree that it is not correct to stretch that spring but that's due to a reason you don't mention. Stretching that spring does a...

Re: CCLARK'S SMALL CHROME AIR CLEANERS
Why can't people try to stick to answering the original question. In this instance a better way of mounting the Clark air filters! I did a similar trick with shorter exhaust pipe couplers and notched them so I would not need to make any changes to the carb tops. Now that I have a 3D printer that ca...

Re: Baptism by fire... Electric fuel pump install.
Asian imported fuel pumps have had issues, but that doesn't make ALL mechanical fuel pumps bad! If Asian pumps are all you can find then that does in fact make them all bad. ::-): 8 of the 8 I tested in the last two years from China began failing in around 8-10 miles of use. The shafts are too long...

Re: We TRIED to Help CORSA Fix the Serious Issues with The Corvair Center Forum – Read Our Letter and Their Response HER
So sounds like recruiting new members is now against the bylaws without prior approval? WTH? How do you figure that? All I read into that proposed bylaw change is that CORSA does not want any of its assets to be used to promote or endorse a non-affiliated, commercial organization unless pre-approve...

Re: 66 Coupe LR lower fender patch panel
I have two of those. The part in the top of the images has the rear corner seam included. The other part is cut short of the seam because the person who bought the adjacent rear lower section wanted the full seam included to repair a tailpipe hole someone had made. $45 for the more complete part and...

Re: 66 Coupe LR lower fender patch panel
I think I have a left rear corner (below the bumper level) cut from a 65 Arizona parts car but I won't be able to check the shed until the weekend. I'll update with pics and price if I find it.

Re: WTB LM Convertible
I am curious, why are you not interested in a 69 Monza Convertible? "ajviper" only made that one post above and hasn't logged in here since last November so you might not get a reply. My guess as to why he didn't want a 69 was the fact that final-year cars are made from leftovers. I avoid...

Re: Finished Project
Very cool! I have no wall space in the shop so mine are outside. The rear end has solar powered walkway lights with a motion sensor so that the LEDs go from dim to bright if you walk past them at night. I haven't finished wiring up the front end but plan on dim lighting such as would be fitting for ...

Re: Rockauto F/C Brake Parts
You probably lost a spot welded on weight from the drum, nothing you can do but put one back on or replace it as you did. No signs of a big weight missing on that drum but maybe it was attached poorly so didn't stay long. The guy I bought it from in LA owned it for 2 years but never drove it except...

Re: Rockauto F/C Brake Parts
I just got four new drums and brake shoe sets from RockAuto but didn't want coated drums or the brake hardware so not the same kit parts you mention exactly. After suffering with a drum that turned out to be 9 oz out of balance , I decided to just get new parts all around and start out fresh. 9 ounc...

Re: RR Block Listed on e-bay at the moment.
I had a RR engine case listed on ebay as an auction with a low reserve that covered what I paid for it and then some. I was shocked when it sold for $2200 but clearly, two people were intently chasing it. The winning bidder told me it was the exact date range he had searched for for over 20 years an...
